FMB-VS
Fired marine boiler
Capacity range
Up to 5 t/h
Design pressure
Up to 1.2 MPa
Design features
The FMB-VS is a vertical fired boiler.
The heat transfer is performed through the plate furnace and a number of rifled plain smoke tubes. The convection part can be equipped with pin tubes on request.
The special spherical shape of the furnace top plate gives an increased stability against ship vibrations and protects this part of the boiler against partial overheating, because residues in the boiler water are led to the boiler bottom before they can accumulate on the furnace top plate
FMB-VM
Fired marine boiler
Capacity range
6 – 25 t/h
Design pressure
Up to 1.0 MPa
Design features
The FMB-VM is a water tube type steam boiler for medium power range. The radiation heat transfer is performed in the membrane wall furnace of cylindrical design, whilst the convection heat transfer is carried out through special pin elements / rifled plain smoke tubes. The convection part can be equipped with rifled plain smoke tubes on request up to 16 t/h steam capacity.
An effective natural water circulation is ensured in all areas of the boiler by means of several external downcomer pipes connecting the water / steam drum with the ring-shaped collector at the boiler basement.
The special spherical shape of the furnace top plate gives an increased stability against ship vibrations and protects this part of the boiler against partial overheating, because residues in the boiler water are led to the downcomer connections on the periphery of the drum before they can accumulate on the furnace top plate.
FMB-VL
Fired marine boiler
Capacity range
14 – 45 t/h
Design pressure
Up to 1.8 MPa
Design features
The FMB-VL is a water tube type steam boiler for medium to large power range.
The radiation heat transfer is performed in the membrane wall furnace of cylindrical design, whilst the convection heat transfer is carried out through special pin elements.

FMB-VD
Fired marine boiler
Capacity range
30 – 110 t/h
Design pressure
Up to 2.5 MPa*
*Can be adapted if requested by the customer
Design features
The top fired D-type boiler FMB-VD resembles a classic membrane wall furnace design, which is well proven for marine applications. The radiation heat transfer is performed in the furnace. The convection part is built up with special pin tubes, each with a high heat transfer capacity. Due to the extended heating surface a very high efficiency is given under part-load conditions. The convection part can be cleaned by means of steam soot blowers.
This water tube boiler has an effective natural water circulation ensured in all areas of the boiler by means of the external downcomers. The FMB-VD boiler is basically designed for the production of saturated steam, but can also be equipped with superheaters.
FMB-HF
Fired marine boiler
Capacity range
Up to 10 t/h
Design pressure
Up to 1.2 MPa
Design features
The FMB-HF is a horizontal three-pass fired boiler.
Due to the third pass in the convection part the efficiency is the highest possible for marine boilers. The heat transfer is performed through the corrugated or plain flame tube furnace and a number of plain smoke tubes. These smoke tubes and the furnace can be easily accessed for cleaning and maintenance purposes through the reverse chamber doors. The exhaust gas section is designed with plain smoke tubes.
FMB-VF-LONOX
Fired marine boiler
Capacity range
Up to 18 t/h
Design pressure
Up to 1.0 MPa
Design features
The FMB-VF-LONOX is a vertical two-pass fired boiler. Heat transfer is performed through the corrugated or plain flame tube furnace and a number of plain smoke tubes. The new design of the flame tube entrance for burner mounting allows a minimum of burner refractory which significantly enhances operational reliability.
Low NOx emission
The FMB-VF-LONOX boiler is designed to incorporate proven Low NOx Combustion Systems. In order to meet lowest emission levels the boiler package is equipped with flue gas recirculation. Flue gas recirculation, in conjunction with Marine Gas Oil (MGO) fuels, enables compliance with current and known future emission regulations and will allow boiler operation in ports worldwide. For Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) firing the combustion system can be equipped with water injection to improve solid particle emission levels
